artKids General art (5 to 12 yrs)

10.30 – 12.00 pm

Our artKids general class follows our after-school program, teaching art sills and techniques that are transferable between art mediums. Our program teaches creative-thinking skills as children discover there are no mistakes or flops in art, only ‘flopportunities’!

This class is for primary school-aged children as it is a structured class, requiring focus and reasonable fine motor skills. If you have an interested 4 year old, please head to our artTots Process Art classes.

Class is held at our artKids Studio space in Turner only.

Fees: Term fees and Once-off Paid Trial.
Note: classes run on long weekends except where the public holiday falls on a Saturday (Easter). No refunds available. Students can attend a make-up class at one of our after-school locations or put towards holiday sessions.

Not sure? A once-off paid Trial class is available at single session cost. Email admin@artkidsaustralia.com to book a trial.

Anime/Manga Club (9yrs+): 2:30 - 4pm

Run weekly on Saturdays, our Anime Club brings together kids with the same passion for all things Anime! Before joining our Saturday class, we encourage our students to gain the basic drawing skills particular to Anime through our school holiday three-afternoon Anime/Manga Foundation Skills for 9yrs+ program.

After completing the Foundation Skills classes (or showing examples of their current skills), kids can join this class with a focus on individual character and/or comic strip development at their own pace. The class operates alongside our Foundation class, with more one-on-one feedback.

Club sessions are student-focused and may cover facial features, hair, body postures, accessories, etc for human and animal characters – depending on students interests and skill levels.

A greater emphasis on body movement using perspective to draw characters in action.

Practice with different mediums including pencil, fineliners, graphic markers and inks as they explore their character.

Kids create a Character Sheet as they explore their character identity.

Kids are encouraged to develop their own style within their favoured genre and will create an A3 multi-panel comic at the end of the term.

Fees: Term fees and Once-off Paid Trial.
Note: we run classes on Saturdays where there is a public holiday Monday – no refunds given, however you may attend a make up session. No classes held over Easter weekend.
